How payments work in Vagaro
Vagaro is booking and business software that also takes payments. Its built-in card payments run through Vagaro Merchant Services. A payment processor is the company that moves card money from your customer to your bank.
Salon owners also ask about fees, payouts and card readers. All three come down to your Vagaro Merchant Services agreement and the reports in your account.
What you can do instead
- Add up the card fees in your Vagaro reports for a month and divide by your card sales to get your effective rate.
- Read your Merchant Services agreement for fee terms and payout timing.
- Ask us to read your numbers with you. A person will tell you what they mean, even if the answer is to stay where you are.
- Treat a change of software as a separate decision. There is no pressure to switch.
Questions merchants ask
Can I use a different processor with Vagaro?
We have not found a supported connection for that. Vagaro's built-in payments run through Vagaro Merchant Services. Ask us and we will check your account.
Where do I find my Vagaro card processing fees?
Open your monthly processing statement and add up every fee. Divide that total by your card sales for the month. The result is your effective rate, the real percentage you pay after every fee. Our free statement review walks you through it.
Can I charge clients extra to cover card fees?
Rules vary by card network and by state, and your agreement may have its own terms. Check before you add a charge. Our surcharge guide covers the basics.
When do my payouts arrive?
Payout timing is set in your Vagaro Merchant Services agreement. Ask for it in writing if it is not clear.
