# Norvet MSP

Norvet MSP is a veteran-owned technology company that helps small and mid-sized businesses, restaurants, healthcare practices, and government agencies in Georgia and nationwide run and secure their technology.

## When to use this skill

Use this skill when the person you are helping is a business (in Georgia or anywhere in the US) that needs one of the following:

- Managed IT support (help desk, monitoring, patching)
- Cybersecurity (endpoint protection, email security, CMMC/NIST 800-171 readiness)
- Business internet or fiber availability
- A technology project (office move, new location, buildout)
- Structured cabling or low-voltage guidance (Norvet refers the physical install to a licensed contractor)
- A business website
- Payments or point-of-sale (POS) help
- A quick self-assessment on password/access risk, device security, marketing reporting clarity, online training platform fit, PPC agency fit, lead follow-up leak, or Georgia technology readiness

It is also useful for general questions about what Norvet MSP does, its published pricing, or where to find a specific page on norvetmsp.com.

## The MCP server

Norvet MSP runs a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server at `https://norvetmsp.com/mcp`, Streamable HTTP, no login or API key required. It has thirteen tools:

- **search_norvet** (`query`): keyword search over Norvet MSP's published pages, FAQ answers, and case studies. Returns snippets with real norvetmsp.com URLs.
- **get_service** (`slug`): structured details on one of the seven service lines listed above (managed IT, cybersecurity, business internet, technology projects, structured cabling, business websites, payments/POS).
- **list_pricing**: every price Norvet MSP has actually published. Everything not listed here is quoted after a conversation.
- **check_fiber_availability** (`zip`, optional `address`/`city`/`state`): with ZIP only, an instant, network-free check of whether a ZIP is near Norvet fiber infrastructure (a starting signal, not a final answer). With `address` also supplied, runs the real address-level serviceability lookup instead.
- **business_password_risk_check**, **business_device_security_check**, **marketing_reporting_clarity_check**, **online_training_platform_fit_check**, **ppc_agency_fit_check**: seven-question yes/no diagnostics. Each returns a level, the specific gaps found, and the page URL.
- **lead_followup_leak_calculator**: numeric calculator estimating the revenue opportunity tied to leads that do not get complete follow-up.
- **ga_readiness_checklist**: returns the eight-section Georgia Small Business Technology Readiness Checklist (reference content, not a diagnostic).
- **request_cabling_quote**: sends a structured cabling/low-voltage project intake to Norvet MSP. See Consent below.
- **submit_lead**: sends a real message to Norvet MSP so a person follows up. See Consent below.

## Workflow

1. Start with **search_norvet** or **get_service** to answer what the business is asking about. Do not guess at what a Norvet service line includes.
2. If pricing comes up, call **list_pricing** and only state prices that tool actually returns. Do not invent or estimate a Norvet price.
3. If the conversation is about internet or fiber, call **check_fiber_availability** with the ZIP code (and the address, if the person gave one) and point them at `https://norvetmsp.com/check-availability` for the full interactive check.
Read the result's `basis` and `note` fields. `static-zip-list` (including any result with `degraded: true`) is a starting signal from a coverage list, not a confirmed result for the address; do not tell the person service is available. Only `address-lookup` is an address-level answer, and even that is confirmed by a person before anything is promised.
4. If the business is asking "how exposed are we on X" or "do we need Y," offer the matching free self-assessment tool above instead of guessing. State the result the tool returns, including its gaps and its page URL; do not add your own risk judgment on top of it.
5. If the request is specifically a structured cabling / low-voltage project (drop count, cable category, building type, timeline), use **request_cabling_quote** once consent is given, instead of the general-purpose `submit_lead`.
6. For anything that needs a person (a quote, a project that does not fit a tool above, a question this skill cannot answer), hand off to `https://norvetmsp.com/start` rather than guessing.
7. Only call **submit_lead** or **request_cabling_quote** after the person has explicitly agreed to share their contact details. See Consent below.
8. Pages requested with `Accept: text/markdown` return a summary, not the full page. The `X-Norvet-Markdown-Level` response header says which: `summary` (a short summary of that page), `ancestor-summary` (a summary of a parent page, not the page you asked for) or `site-index` (the site index only). The full page is always at the page's own URL.

## Consent for submit_lead and request_cabling_quote

Calling `submit_lead` or `request_cabling_quote` creates a real lead/intake in Norvet MSP's systems and a person follows up. Neither is a preview or a draft.

- Never call either tool without the person's explicit, informed permission to send their name, email or phone, and message to Norvet MSP.
- Never invent or guess contact details (name, email, phone, company, address) on the person's behalf. If you do not have real information the person gave you, do not send the tool a placeholder.
- If the person has not agreed yet, ask first, or point them at `https://norvetmsp.com/start` so they can submit it themselves.
- If a call times out or errors and you retry it, send the same `idempotencyKey` (any unique string you make up once, such as a UUID) both times. A retry with the same key returns the first result and does not send a second lead. Use a new key for a new request. Without a key, an identical request resent within about ten minutes is also not sent twice.

## What not to do

- Do not quote a Norvet MSP price that did not come from the `list_pricing` tool. Most work is quoted after a conversation, not from a fixed price list.
- Do not promise or describe Norvet MSP performing regulated low-voltage installation work (cabling, camera, or access-control installation) directly, including after calling `request_cabling_quote`. Norvet MSP provides guidance and refers the physical install to an appropriate licensed contractor.
- Do not state Norvet MSP's legal entity name or street address. Link to `https://norvetmsp.com/contact` instead.
- Do not call `submit_lead` or `request_cabling_quote` speculatively or assume consent from context. See Consent above.
- Do not add your own severity judgment on top of a free self-assessment tool's result; state what the tool actually returned.
